WHAT DATA WE COLLECT
We only collect data that you choose to give us. Here's what that looks like across the different parts of the site:
Event Ticket Registration
When you register for a Build to Scale event via Eventbrite, Eventbrite's own privacy policy applies. We receive basic attendee information (name, email) from Eventbrite to manage attendance.
Industry Survey
If you complete our industry survey, we collect:
- Business type, team size and operational details you choose to share
- Your opinions on tools, admin challenges and technology
- Optional contact details (name, email, phone) if you choose to provide them
Sponsor Registration
If you register as a sponsor, we collect:
- Your name, company name, contact details and sponsorship package selection
- This information is used to process your sponsorship and send you relevant event materials
Contact & Enquiry Forms
If you get in touch via any form on the site, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Website Analytics
We use Google Tag Manager and associated analytics tools to understand how people use the site. This may include anonymous data such as pages visited, time on site, and general location. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.
WHO WE SHARE DATA WITH
We only share data where necessary to run the event and this website. The third parties we use are:
- Eventbrite — ticket registration and attendee management
- Google (Analytics / Tag Manager) — anonymous website analytics
- Google Sheets — sponsor registration data is logged for internal tracking
- Base44 — the platform that powers our backend functions and form submissions
- Gmail / Google Workspace — used to send automated confirmation emails
All third-party services we use are GDPR compliant. We do not transfer data outside the UK or EEA without appropriate safeguards in place.
HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA
- Event attendee data — retained for 12 months after the event, then deleted
- Survey responses — retained for research purposes for up to 2 years, then anonymised or deleted
- Sponsor data — retained for the duration of the sponsorship relationship and up to 2 years after for accounting purposes
- Enquiry form submissions — retained for 6 months after your enquiry is resolved
- Analytics data — retained in line with Google's standard retention periods
YOUR RIGHTS
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Right to access — you can request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete your data (the "right to be forgotten")
- Right to restrict processing — you can ask us to limit how we use your data
- Right to data portability — you can request your data in a portable format
- Right to object — you can object to us processing your data on the basis of legitimate interest
