The Concept

Not a Course.
A Toolbox.

Most events teach you one thing. Build to Scale gives you everything in one place — the finance tools, the growth strategies, the marketing playbooks, and the technology that's already changing how the best construction businesses operate.

But more than that — it's about the people in the room. Sharing what's working. Leaning on each other's experience. Learning from the wins and mistakes of people who are at the same stage, or a few steps ahead.

"The best construction businesses didn't figure it all out alone. They got in the right rooms, with the right people, at the right time."

Why It Works

Three Things That
Actually Move the Needle.

Build to Scale is built around three things that consistently make the biggest difference for construction business owners.

🛠️

The Right Tools

Finance, marketing, systems, AI — every key area of running and scaling a construction business, covered in one morning. No fluff, no filler. Just the stuff that works.

🤝

The Right People

Experts who actually work with construction businesses — not theorists. And a room full of fellow owners you can compare notes with, lean on, and learn from directly.

🏆

Shared Successes

Nothing accelerates growth faster than hearing what's actually worked for someone else in your position. Build to Scale is a space to share the wins — and the hard lessons too.

What You'll Walk Away With

Practical. Actionable.
Monday Morning Ready.

Every session is designed around one question: what can you actually do differently this week?

01

A clearer picture of your finances

Understand your numbers, your margins, and how to access the funding to take on bigger projects.

02

A strategy to step off the tools

The structure, systems and people plan to move from working in the business to running it properly.

03

A lead generation plan that actually works

How to build a consistent pipeline — so you're choosing your clients, not chasing them.

04

Tech and AI ideas you can use immediately

Practical ways construction businesses are using technology right now — saving time and winning better jobs.

05

Connections with people who get it

A network of construction business owners at the same stage — to share with, learn from, and grow alongside.

06

Direct access to the specialists in the room

Finance, marketing, legal, software — the people who can help you act on everything you've learned, all under one roof.

🚀

First event — get in early

Build to Scale is launching for the first time in May. You're getting in at the very beginning of something that's going to grow.

Be Honest With Yourself

Is This for You?

This event is deliberately built for a specific type of person.

✓ This is for you if...
You own a construction, trades or property business
You want to grow — and you're serious about it
You want practical tools, not just inspiration
You're open to learning from people in the same boat
You want to leave with actions, not just ideas
✗ This isn't for you if...
You're looking for shortcuts or overnight results
You're not willing to change how you operate
You're employed in construction — not running a business
You want a morning out with no intention of acting

Brand Guidelines — Version 1.0

BUILD TO SCALE

This document defines the visual identity, tone and design system for Build to Scale. Use it to ensure every touchpoint — digital, print, social — feels consistent and on brand.

01 — Identity

THE LOGO

BUILD TO SCALE
Build Bigger. Scale Smarter.
BUILD TO SCALE
Build Bigger. Scale Smarter.
BUILD TO SCALE
Build Bigger. Scale Smarter.

✓ Do

Always use on dark, light, or yellow backgrounds from this guide. Keep the gradient bar underneath.

✗ Don't

Don't stretch, recolour, add drop shadows, or place on busy photographic backgrounds without a dark overlay.

✓ Clear Space

Always maintain clear space equal to the height of the "B" in BUILD around all sides of the logo.

✗ Don't

Don't use the yellow text on a yellow background. Don't use red text on red backgrounds.

02 — Colour

COLOUR PALETTE

Signal Yellow
#F7C948
Primary accent. CTAs, headings, highlights, ticker bar.
Alert Red
#E83A2F
Secondary accent. Gradient endings, urgency, contrast with yellow.
Void Black
#0B0C0E
Primary background. The dominant colour on all materials.
Surface Dark
#13161B
Card backgrounds, panels, secondary surfaces.
Card Dark
#1A1E26
Raised card elements, hover states.
Off White
#F2F4F7
Primary text on dark backgrounds.

Gradient rule: The only approved gradient is Yellow → Red: linear-gradient(90deg, #F7C948, #E83A2F). Use it for dividers, card accent bars and CTA glow effects only.

03 — Typography

TYPE SYSTEM

Display — Bebas Neue

Content Cards

Dark card surface with yellow-red gradient top bar. Border: #262C38.

Always use the gradient accent bar on top. Cards float on #13161B surface over #0B0C0E background.

05 — Tone

TONE OF VOICE

Build to Scale is direct, confident and no-nonsense. It speaks to construction professionals who want to grow who are action-oriented and time-poor. Every word earns its place.

✓ Sound Like This

  • Direct and confident — no filler words
  • Action-first — lead with what they'll get
  • Industry-aware — use trades language naturally
  • Energetic but grounded — not hype, real value
  • Short sentences that punch
  • "Secure your seat." not "Please register..."

✗ Not Like This

  • Overly corporate or formal
  • Buzzword-heavy ("synergise", "leverage")
  • Vague ("a great opportunity to network")
  • Long-winded paragraphs
  • Passive voice ("you will be provided with...")
  • Overpromising or unsubstantiated claims

06 — Imagery

IMAGE STYLE

Photography

Real people, real sites. Gritty and authentic. No stock imagery of people in hard hats smiling at tablets. Use high-contrast, dark-toned photos.

Overlays

Always use a dark overlay (rgba 0,0,0,0.5+) when placing text over images. Yellow text only on properly darkened backgrounds.

Texture

Subtle noise texture and diagonal stripe patterns can be used sparingly as background elements. Never overpowering — they should barely be visible.
